Mitsuru Sugaya
Professor of Character Design Course, Department of Manga, Faculty of Manga, Kyoto Seika University
During the heyday of the Space Invaders game, he took the world by storm with his manga "Game Center Arashi," and later explained programming in an easy-to-understand way with "Hello Microcomputer." Many readers in their 40s who work in the IT industry say that his work was one of the factors that determined their own lives.
In 2005, at the age of 54, he enrolled in the Waseda University Faculty of Human Sciences correspondence course (e-school). In 2011, he completed his master's degree at the Graduate School of Human Sciences at the same university. In 2012, he became a part-time lecturer at Kyoto Seika University, and in 2013, became a professor in the Character Design course.
