Japan E-Commerce Society Submission Guidelines

[Japan E-Commerce Association Proceedings Submission Guidelines]
Established on August 10, 2020

In accordance with Article 2, Paragraph 2 (3) of the Chapter Regulations, the Japan Society for E-Commerce Studies will publish the Proceedings of the Japan Society for E-Commerce Studies and establish the following submission guidelines.
The Board of Directors will make any amendments or repeal of these regulations.

1. Members may submit papers to the proceedings.
However, in principle, only presentations given at academic conferences and research committees are accepted.
2. Papers that can be submitted must be unpublished original research related to e-commerce.

3. The responsible author and first author must be a member, but co-authors may include non-members.

4. The following four types of papers can be submitted:
(1) Research paper: something that demonstrates originality in education or research.
(2) Practical papers: papers that are useful in educational practice.
(3) Practical report: A report that is useful as a resource for education or research.
(4) Explanation: An explanation of a phenomenon that is already known through education or research.

5. In principle, it is preferable for members to submit articles to the chapter's proceedings, "Practical Reports."
Non-members can also submit articles if they receive a recommendation from a director or editorial committee member.

6. Submitted papers should be sent to the secretariat by the specified deadline, in principle in PDF file format created based on the paper template, via the website or email.
However, if it is difficult to send using the above method, please follow the instructions of the Secretariat.

7. The date of acceptance of a submitted paper will be the date on which the manuscript arrives at the Editorial Board.

8. Manuscripts should be prepared in the following order:
1) Title, author name, Japanese abstract, 2) Main text, 3) English abstract
9. Submitted papers should be A4 portrait size with a top margin of 25 mm, a bottom margin of 25 mm, a left margin of 18 mm, and a right margin of 18 mm.
The main text should be 50 lines of 25 characters each, in two columns. Each page should have at least two character spaces between each line.
In principle, the document should be no more than 8 pages.

10. At the end of the first paragraph on the first page, leave one line to write the date of receipt and acceptance, and below that, write the affiliation of the author and the date of publication, marked with an asterisk.

11. After the title and author name, please include a Japanese abstract (600 characters or less) and keywords (5 or less).
In addition, the contents of the paper should be summarized in 300 words in Western language (this may be omitted, however, if the main text is in Western language, the summary should be 600 Japanese characters or less).
For Roman texts, the Roman title, author's name (first name with initial capital letter only, last name with all capital letters), and affiliation should be written first.

12. Citations and references should be numbered consecutively for each paper, and the numbers should be entered in parentheses at the appropriate places in the text.
If the reference is an academic journal, write the author's name, paper title, journal name, volume, issue, (year of publication), start page number, and end page number in that order.
If the document is a book or a collection, write the editor and author name, book title, publisher, (year of publication), starting page number, and ending page number in that order. The same applies to foreign documents.
When providing a URL, include the date of last access.

13. Submitted papers will be published in the proceedings after undergoing multiple peer review and screening by the editorial board.

14. There will be no publication fee for articles.

15. Authors whose papers are published in the Proceedings of the E-Commerce Society will be presented with a media on which their papers are electronically recorded by the secretariat.

16. Manuscripts published in the proceedings will not be returned.

17. The person submitting the paper will agree to all of the following items regarding the paper being published:
(1) If the author submits a paper or other work that is his/her own work and is published in the Transactions of the E-Commerce Society, the author shall transfer the copyright of the work to the E-Commerce Society.
(2) If the work contains fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, duplicate submission, or any other violation of research ethics, the author himself/herself shall bear ultimate responsibility.
(3) If the author uses the work for non-commercial purposes (for example, making a submitted paper (postprint) available in the institutional repository of the affiliated university), the author may use the work without obtaining permission from the E-Commerce Society.
(4) If the Japan E-Commerce Society uses the work for non-commercial purposes, it may do so without obtaining permission from the Japan E-Commerce Society.

Supplementary Provision: This provision shall come into effect on August 10, 2020.
